Alex Oliver, Founder

Vernon Griffith ll CSCS*D, TSAC-F*D, Founder

Vernon is currently the Program Director and Co-Owner of VHP. As such, he oversees the high performance programming for the military veterans that come through the Continue Mission Program.  Being an advocate for high performance training for youth athletics in Hampton Roads, Vernon has assisted over fifty athletes in receiving athletic scholarships for the BIG 10, ACC, SEC, and BIG 12 among others. While serving in the United States Air Force at Eglin AFB, Vernon started his education at the University of West Florida where he studied Exercise Science and then continued his education at Old Dominion University. Vernon also serves as a presenter for the NSCA for their yearly conferences; NSCA Coaches Conference and Tactical Strength and Conditioning Conference and is a key contributor for the TSAC-F Practitioners Course hosted at Virginia High Performance throughout the year.

Danny Foley, MS, CSCS*D, TSAC-F*D, USAW

I completed my Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in human psychology at Old Dominion University in 2015 and am currently obtaining my Masters in Exercise Science from ODU as well. Since joining the staff at Virginia High Performance in the summer of 2016, I have held the role of Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach and have worked extensively with individuals spanning an array of backgrounds, including aspiring college athletes, physically and cognitively impaired Veterans through our flagship ‘Continue Mission’ program, and general fitness population. I have a developed a penchant for Olympic-style weightlifting, and tactical-based performance training. I hope to one day serve as the Head Strength and Conditioning coach for my beloved Oakland Raiders. Personally, I am a proud husband, and avid dog lover.

Tim Kelly, CSCS, TSAC-F

Tim is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Before becoming a strength coach, he was a Division I collegiate baseball player at Virginia Tech and University of Maryland Baltimore where he earned his bachelors degree. Tim currently works with VHP's disabled athlete program and the Veteran recovery program.  Building a better, stronger, and healthier body leads to a strong healthy mind in which any goal can be reached and any limitation can be overcome.

Hannah Day, CSCS

After playing four years of Collegiate solftball and majoring in Exercise Science from Troy University in Alabama, she played two years of professional softball as a catcher for the Akron Racers . She completed a four month internship with the Strength and Conditioning Program at Troy University and 3 month internship at VHP. Hannah currently works with VHP’s Continue Mission Program.

Julie Nunn, MS, CSCS

Julie is Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council of Exercise. She earned an athletic scholarship to compete in the 400 meters at the University of Kentucky. After earning her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, she pursued a master's degree in Human Performance at the University of Florida. During her time there, she also completed a strength and conditioning internship with the University Athletics Association and concluded her remaining eligibility in track and field. After college, she interned with her high school club track coach 3 x Olympian Dennis Mitchell and his professional Nike sprinters for the Rio 2016 Olympics and London 2017 World Championship seasons. From 2016 to 2019, she also transitioned from a part-time performance specialist position to full-time Lead Performance Specialist at the National Training Center in Clermont, Florida. While there, she trained athletes and clients of various ages and physical capabilities. Julie currently works with VHP's youth athletic program and Veteran Recovery program.

Annie Tamburello, CCC-SLP

Annie Tamburello is a speech-language pathologist and Certified Brain Injury Specialist who holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She is the founder of Cortex Initiative and has obtained degrees in speech language pathology from Old Dominion University (BS) and James Madison University (MS). Her specific interests and experiences include working with clients who have had brain injuries, brain tumors, strokes, or who have progressive neurological diseases. Annie has dedicated much of her career to strengthening the cognitive and language abilities of military service members with a history of traumatic brain injury. She aims to help her clients enhance their thinking and communication capabilities so they can attain their personal and professional goals, improve relationships with friends and family, and advance their overall quality of life.
